DRX Gateway is a standards-compliant tool that lets utilities easily and quickly establish secure connections with external entities (vendors, customers, service providers, apps, etc.) and exchange data (customer usage data, configuration details, vendor data exports, etc.). We offer both drag-and-drop interfaces (no technical integration required) and standards-compliant APIs (for scalable automation and integration). We also have built-in authorization forms for situations where customer consent is required to exchange data.

Why we created DRX Gateway

The current energy grid is struggling, and utilities are being bombarded on all sides. From AI datacenters demanding more and more resources, to customers being frustrated with rising prices, to service providers hitting capacity bottlenecks when trying to deploy next-gen technologies, the grid simply can't keep up. Utilities need all the help they can get to keep the grid stable and available.

In parallel with these disruptions, I've been writing new standard protocols for how utilities can offer secure, scalable connections with external vendors, enterprise customers, service providers, apps, and more. These new standards are open and publicly available through the Linux Foundation Energy's Connected Data Specifications (CDS). The goal of these new CDS standards is to massively streamline how utilities and external entities establish secure connections and exchange data.

As part of my CDS development work, I realized how much of an impact the new CDS standards can help in enabling and magnifying solutions for the current disruptions on the grid. So I set out to create the first commercial implementation of the CDS standards that can be used by utilities and others to solve the headaches and friction of establishing secure connections. By removing the barriers to utility connectivity, new innovations and technologies are no longer held back, and we can all work together to keep the grid running.
